I visited Pam Chegwin at the Trevone Hotel in about 1995. I was introduced to her through a friend that used to go to the hotel for bird watching holidays. pam showed us around the hotel and her own rooms. I was immediately impressed by this painting and another of white chairs in front of a window, with a blue wall I think. They were by Lenkiewitz, (she said that the chairs picyure was only on loan. She had had her portrait painted by Robert (which I have recently seen on the internet). Roberts paintings are very powerful, you cannoy help being moved by them.

I first became aware of Robert when I was working in Plymouth dockyard around 1975 onwards. I was strolling around the Barbican and happened upon some of his pintings in a window. It must have been during his Mental Handicap and Jealousy project s as the pictures were of people with extreme facial characteristics, and one was with a man with his entrails coming out, again very moving images.
