Re: 51. Bert and Ernie Emden: 350 years Family on the Barbican; Toy Sellers. £150
These two bachelors were my Uncles. Brothers of my late Father, Mark Emdon. 6th generation Plymouthians, they were proud of their association with the City. Bert was an amatuer local historian and artist and Ernie, player and President of the local lawn tennis club. Bachelors to the end, they lived in seperate flats at 22 Southside Street. Bert died in 1984 and Ernie in 1987. Their surname is correctly spelt 'Emdon' - NOT 'Emden'.
